National Women Business Owner Corporation (NWBOC)
This organization provides certification for women business owners, called WBE Certification (women business enterprise). We work closely with them in that KC-CWBO's Executive Director, Nancy Zurbuchen, serves on their national board, and several of our members (Loretta Nichols and Jeanne Johnson) have been trained and provide on-site reviews for NWBOC certification process.
Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP)
This organization is has some great people in it. . . rely on it for consistently good review and advocacy from the left-of-center viewpoint.
National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO)
The KC-CWBO routinely works cooperatively with this organization, both locally and nationally. NAWBO is a 35-year old organization, with 85 chapters nationwide. NAWBO has a different agenda and format than we do, with their focus on leadership training and business management training. While they primarily attract and retain smaller businesses (as compared to our membership criteria,) they have been very influential over the years and still provide great education and leadership experience for women business owners.
