Beginning in 1991, WDS Marketing and Public Relations evolved from its creation as a direct marketing firm to an award winning marketing and public relations agency. WDS’ services now include marketing strategies, public relations campaigns, media relations programs, innovative brand building and milestone anniversary celebrations. Clients include both small and mid-sized businesses and my agency continues to gain recognition for the quality of our work and results achieved.
WDS excels in assisting our clients, many of whom are women business owners, in the application and participation of awards programs. This type of brand building is also an ideal tool for continuing to build credibility, receive recognition for achievement, and other positive areas of public relations.
In just the past five years WDS’ clients have been honored with many regional and national awards including three Ernst &Young regional "Entrepreneur of the Year" awards, five Working Women Magazine "Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards," a Sprint "Champions of Small Business" national award, INC magazine "Inner City 100 recognition, an SBA regional "Small Business Person of the Year" and "Women in Business Advocate of the Year" award. In 2003, we added the Wells Fargo National Trailblazer" honor to our list.
On a state and local level out clients have received a Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce "Top Ten Small Business of the Year" award, two "Fast 50" rapid growth technology business honors, and 4 State of Kansas Women-Owned businesses honors.
Three of WDS’ clients have been honored in the Junior Achievement "Up and Comer Awards" program. Over the last four years, ten of WDS’ clients were honored by the Kansas City Business Journal in their "Top Twenty-Five Women Who Mean Business" awards. Four clients were honored by the KC Small Business Monthly in their "25 under 25" outstanding small businesses program and 4 clients (woman business owners) have been recognized by the Kansas City Business Journal in their "Best Places to Work in Kansas City" program.
Under my guidance the agency has also aided our clients in getting important recognition in local and national business media. We assisted both the ABWA in their 50th anniversary and NAWBO in their 25th anniversary with award winning media campaigns.

1991-to present

2003:
June: Received the Business Marketing Association "Fountain Award" for excellence in business-to-business public relations and two "Silver Awards of Merit." WDS has now received more BMA Fountain Awards in the last four years than any other public relations agency in the metro Kansas City area.
2002:
March: Attended the "White House Conference on Women Entrepreneurship in the 21st Century" as a representative of Kansas City area women business owners.
June: Selected by Greater Kansas City Business Magazine as a "Kansas City Trendsetter."
July: Received the Business Marketing Association "Fountain Award" for excellence in business-to-business public relations and two "Silver Awards of Merit."
October Received the Kansas City Public Relations Society "Silver PRISM Award" for media campaign for the media launch of the KC-CWBO.
2001
October: Co-founded Kansas City Council of Women Business Owners (KC-CWBO)
November: Inducted into the Greater KC Chamber Chairman’s Club "Hall of Fame"
October: Named "Kansas Women in Business Advocate of the Year"
2000
